I’ve Got An Eiffel Tower!

Tonight feels a little different. Just got the news that two close family friend has passed away, and it’s time like this that I wish I was home. :( Oh well, spent the day reading up on a book by Bjarke Ingels titled Yes Is More. It’s an archicomic and I’m in love with his works and approach to design. It’s a whole lot of critical thinking, but he doesn’t do things for the sake of doing it, and I really like that he doesn’t succumb to the extremist approach by most architects. He seems really humble through his books.

The traditional image of the radical architect is the angry young man rebelling against the establishment. The avant-garde is defined by what it is against rather than what it is for. This leads to an oedipal succession of contradictions where each generation says the opposite of the previous. With agendas is dependent on being the opposite of someone else’s, that simply makes you a follower in reverse. – Bjarke Ingels.

Looks a little like Wolverine :)

I’ve got a long day tomorrow. Need to wake up early to start on my readings, grabbing lunch with Christine, continue with my readings and off for a much needed swim. Maybe not having much to say or complain about is a good thing. Goes to show that my mind is in the right place and focused right? Planning is key, and sticking to the plan will be the toughest challenge. Self instilled discipline can really keep you afloat and do you good. Stay focused and prioritize. Till then, will blog about Aussie breakfast tomorrow. Nights!
